Just promotion, reserve double, under 16 championship and u14 7-a-side this year... cant complain!!
Been a while since the last post... our boy has been lazy over the last while... but sure what can you do.
Great win against the Swa in the promotion game. Some comeback in the reserve championship final to finally beat them Desertmartin bollixes... and the 16s just over ran them.
So not a bad year.... and senior footbball to look forward to next year... fun times!! Oh and the U21s are still to finish yet... good win against Loup there during the week... so happy days!
That was just the onfield activity... i dunno if i'll mention the hunt for the hunk... some night! Some boys with sore heads the next day... 'I see pretty girls every where I go' indeed! But Eugene 'Borat bealy' O'Neill put on a good show to claim the title... so good luck to him in the Derry final in January some time... should be even more interesting!!
Then there was the townland 7s... them staghan boys with mars running the thing done the business beatin reigning champs ballymacpeake in the final! Some craic... never seen so many out of shape boys enjoying playing football!
So 2010 over... almost... not bad... roll on 2011...

Time flies
Jaysus a year doesnt take long goin in... but that's how long its been since I started writin this crap... because if i remember right, i started this carry on just as we were gettin ready to go to the All-irelands 7s down in Meath...
And sure arent we ready to go this year again on Saturday... and try and avoid a dodgy ref in the final this time and win the thing... we'll see... could be interesting... all I know there is a big DCs bus going and its been booked out with 'supporters'... I'd be surprised if half them made it by the group stages even if our players do!
Should be a fun old time... but i've been lay up with an auld sore leg, so will have to be one of those faders and stay away this year... sure we done that well last year, i want to give some other teams a chance the year!!!

Been a while...
It's been sometime since the last post... been too busy layin about and trying out that auld facebook carry on.... not all it's cracked up to be hi!
So since that wee run... what all has happened??....
Well... off the field there was an Irish night and a hypnotist... dunno which one boys got hynotised at... some interesting sites about the place, including elvis and a love in... but that was just the irish night!
Then on the field... well just the two championships... the Under 16s powering their way to the win in the final, while the reserves minus the unique talents of Bealy and Dolph decided not to bother playin in the first half, before doing a remarkable turn around in the second half when big Jim came on and ruled midfield...
Seniors into the old league play-offs but unfortunately out of the championship, was a terrible auld match up in slaughtneil against the dawson... but the less said about it the better.
Was some match at the club on Sunday there... cant mind when there was that many people inside St Oliver Plunkett Park... big letters and his pose had the place lookin well and I'm sure there was quite a few quid lifted too...
Was wild hard on Lavey the 2 late shamrocks goals to win by a point, but sure that's the way it goes, and was a great game for the neutrals, so maybe the lough will be remember for being the hosts for the game of the year for a few years to come, rather than just the venue where Ballinderry and Newbridge whaled the crap out of each other in 1987 in what was supposedly a proper wee row... as far as i mind most the stewards from the lough on the day went home after they had been boxin for about 10 minutes, and left them to it... those were the days!!

Some runnin
Was great to see so many out last night running around the 'lough. Pity some of the footballers couldn'd do as much running during a match... but sure to each their own.
Apart from the fella who won it, who flew round the 6 miles in just over half an hour, there were some outstanding local runners. Although John 'Marathon' Boy McCloy failed to live up to his billing as the fastest man in the parish, he still completed the 6 Mile race in a decent time when some bluffers who I wont mention (Mr Downey, Mr McCann, Maccers) decided half way round to pull out and finish with just 3 miles!! Shameful!! Indeed if Maccers had decided to just do the 3 Miles at the start he would have beaten mars into second for the fun run... ah well... always next year.
Another miraculous sight was Dolph making an unexpected appearance... somehow returning from long term injury to plod round the roads and end up 5th or so in the fun run... all that laying around being 'injured' must have helped greatly!

Just a wee update
Been a while... so thought i'd just do a wee update. Seems things are going rightly for the seniors and reserves... 7 from 7 for both and wee one-sided win there on Sunday against them Drum boys... pity they didnt have a full strength team... didnt do anyone any good that carry on.
Big test this Sunday against moneymore... should tell us a bit more of where we are at and leave someone on top outright...
Well done to the wee under 14s... did the club proud and won the 7 a side blitz in owenbeg on Tuesday night. Good job lads!! Maybe be representing the club in an All-Irleand 7s final some time in the future!

Not a bad start
Good old win for the Seniors against Claudy yesterday... nice to get a rare opening day victory! Hopefully things can continue as well for the rest of the year. The reserves had an even handier win; for a while I thought it was an under 8 match and we were going to have more goals than points at the end... was a close thing! Was another first as well on Sunday... the first time I've seen 17 subs for a Reserve game...! Sub bench couldnt even take everyone!
Nice wee trip to the city on Easter Sunday for the next match... should be fun!

Unreal bit of dancing....
... never thought I'd hear myself sayin that, buy jaysus that was some performance in thon Jigs and Reels!
I dont think i've laughed so hard in my life.. and I know you lot may say that wouldnt be hard as I'm am miserable bollix.. but even so... some entertainment... brilliant!
For any of you who missed it, Barney O'Neill and Weedy had dresses on, Lenny out did Stavros Flatley to become Stavros Kelly, Flaffy done a bit of moonwalkin, big Anthony was on an actual stage dancing rather than in the bar, Fergal Mullan dressed up as a priest with Nuala Tohill as Mrs Doyle, John Boy was chewing some barley straw as a farmer, Willie thought he was playin for Celtic, Mucker done his best highland dancer impression, and even Seamy joined in with some straight shootin in his cowboy outfit... I shit you not!
Fair play to them all, you wouldnt catch me and my two left feet up there jumpin about like an eejit!!
Was some night alright... well done lads... and ladies for putting up with them!

Jigs and Reels... eejits and dancing more like it!
Well the big nights are nearly here... almost time to see the cream of the parish strut their stuff in the duck... but actually on stage and for a reason this time... compared to a normal Saturday night!
Should be some craic... John Boy and big Letters have been practising wild hard and flaffy has been just trying to avoid injury, but I heard he was doin some extra practice at a weddin on Saturday night... so might be a dark horse for the title...
Thon old text voting has started now as well, and there's been 100 votes so far as of midnight on Sunday! I've been sworn to secrecy on who is winning... so ye will just have to wait until the night and when the winner is announced!!
I'm still gutted I didnt get asked to show my dance moves... but then again I'd only show them up... as many skills on the dance floor as the football field sure!! not a lot then!

Reserves get an auld draw
Just got a few dodgy pics from the reserve friendly today. Not a bad day for some ball, some dodgy lookin boys running after the ball though. Should had a nice wee win, but sure it's only a challenge game for now, will have to pick her up for the league! The seniors won handy enough, lookin sharp enough against a Banagher outfit with a county player operating at full forward.

Good night's craic
I'm beginning to think no one likes me... no awards again... why cant people see my natural talent?!! I mean John Boy should have got reserve instead of that dolph eejit. John Loughlin has some big boots to fill winning that most improved... some hard acts to follow! I suppose Mars might have deserved senior and Sheila just about done enough over many years to finally win clubperson award... I still think it shouldnt go to the person who does most work around the place... maybe best lookin or somethin... sorry Sheila!
Anyway... the main site has all the proper photos, i sneaked some of the more interesting ones on here.. including some dancing, hair styles and posing!

Jigs and Reels practice caught on camera
It seems a few of the lads have been putting in some practice for the Dinner dance tonight and for the upcoming Jigs and reels... I dunno if this pair will be winning much though! I think big Anthony is takin a few tips though!
And then a bit of music to go with it from some local talent!

Awards time...
Yes lads, how's the form now?!
Looking forward to this old club night after 3 weeks of hard slog on the field... could do with a wee rest for a change.
Should be a good wee night after Derry beat them Tyrone bollixes in Celtic Park and then back to the club for a wee bit off booggeying.
There's the wee matter of the awards presentations too! Bar U16 and Minor, I expect to make a clean sweep of the awards even if I was injured for most of the year, just the way things have to be!
If management don't see things the same way I do, I guess I'll make alternative predictions: U16: Comesy (moving like one supposedly) Minor: Hairy (Because of his youthful looks) Most Improved reserve: Bergman (I dont know how he gets on our senior team never mind Derry!) Reserve: Big Anthony (For his free kick effort against Magilligan) Senior: John Boy (he's been trying so hard for years, I just felt pity on him) Clubperson of the year: Flaffy (Losing Intermediate Championship Final Captain & Losing Under 16 Championship Final coach - Have to give him something to cheer him up!)

Back at it...
Well, another new year, another season started and back at the old training with new management. I could say I'm glad to be back training, enjoying the criac... but quite frankly lads I'd be lying. I maybe thought it was good for the first 5 seconds... now its just torture!
I dont know when I last felt so much pain after a couple of wee sessions. As the best player at the club and obviously the fittest, I can only imagine how the lesser boys are feeling, am sure there are a few sore bodies today.
I cant remember when i saw so many bluffers on a field at one time, but fair play to them they all finished it... though in what state I'm not sure...
Well I suppose its a good start, just need to keep her lit for the rest of the year now, and get them bleedin showers fixed in the changin rooms, would fecking scald a cat... as well as some more sensitive parts a lad's body too... get it sorted big man!

Happy Christmas/New Year and all that...
Well it's 2010, took a break from this carry on over the holidays there... well deserved break at that i'd say. Sure there was no craic anyway, just snow and ice all the bleedin time, where's the fun in that?!! Exactly... none...
Anyway.. new year's resolution is to write less crap on here and regain my spot as the best player at the club, all these awards where I didn't win got me thinking... obviously the good people of the lough dont know genuine brilliant talent when they see it!!
